Wednesday, 7/3/19 - Kansas City, MO

We...don't...understand...

We went for breakfast. Todd got a pancake*.
*It wasn't a pancake.

Todd's "pancake."

We are in Kansas City, MO

We are not seeing a football game today.

We are at the Kansas City Royals to see the Cleveland Indians, because Stephanie.

It is Armed Forces Night.

Other people are here to see the Indians too.

Sluggerrr is not here to see the Indians.

Just checking...

The field

The kiddie field

 It's like kiss-cam but different.

Footage of the earlier flyover

The pilots of the earlier flyover are not here to see the Indians.

 Beautiful fountains!

Mr. Smile!

We don't know. We don't want to know.

Buck O'Neil seats

Omgomgomg - BBQ Pulled Pork Tater Tots with cole slaw! In a helmet!

Goodnight sun

This is good parenting.

Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman (after whom the stadium is named) in bronze

Frank White (whom we saw yesterday in Kansas City, KS) has a statue too.

We will not swim in your beautiful fountains.

Todd: "It's a big metal fan! Just like us!"

Here we are, not swimming in the fountain.

Royals retired numbers and Hall of Fame

The Indians win it! The Indians win it! Oh my God, the Indians win it!

And there were fireworks!

YAY!

Are the beautiful fountains flipping us off?

Tuesday, 7/2/19 - To Kansas City, KS

Sorry in advance. We drove a lot this day, the signs were amazing and we also went to a baseball game.
Translation: LOTS of pictures

This guy is a human crossing guard for a train.

This seems a bit pricey for a gas station quesadilla pizza. Or is it? We were not brave enough to find out.

Well...OK! We'll go!

Is this the wicked part or the friendly part?

No thumbs here!

At the Subway restaurant

MORE S'MORES!!!!!!!!

Nom nom nom

Todd! Let's go find a Lineman!

 Oh yes!

Seems like a good place.

Was this once the final frontier?

What?

Hmmm

Aroldis, whom we saw pitch in the first game of the trip, has a creek!

Kansas death metal band logo?

Well, if it won all those awards...and it's also baseball-related...

Yo' mama...approves restrooms.

Interesting

Wait...what?

Future home of what?

Cool

CHEESE

Wenogo to the Wizard of Oz Museum.

This buffalo is not roaming.

Do yaks tell stories here?

The Lindy Hop's cousin's drinking water

TRAIN

Welcome to Topeka!

Motorin'!

So very important

What's a "Trfwy?"

Our friend Crock, who recently passed away, came to say hi. We will miss you, Crock. RIP

So very important

Interesting

Hi Jayhawks!

Win the dang day.

Interesting

NO, Todd! We cannot go there! Stephanie has childhood trauma associated with Lawrence!

Um...also not interested in visiting Leavenworth.

We're glad he has his snow shovel. Maybe it's to dig a tunnel for his friend in Leavenworth.

Dude.

Welcome to Kansas City!

We have no idea what this is advertising.

We're (temporarily) not in Kansas anymore!

Jungle Law

Hi Kauffman! We'll see you tomorrow!

Oh hey! We're back in Kansas!

We're in Kansas City, KS to see the Kansas City T-Bones play the Sioux Falls Canaries. These teams are in the American Association and not affiliated with Major League Baseball.

This is cool.

We're OK with this.

Cool

The store. It was not as cold as we imagined a meat locker would be.

Standings

If you rent a chair, don't put it there!

Buck O'Neil played mostly for the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues but the T-Bones signed him to a one-day contract in 2006 when he was 94.

This is all we could get for the lineups.

The food stand honors the Kansas City Monarchs.

Other food stands

The field and the stands

The flags flew correctly for the photographer.

Bullpen

Hit it here?

Very welcoming

Memorial PA Booth for Dan Roberts, who, among other things, was the announcer for both the T-Bones and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The stands - the suites are numbered with important baseball numbers.

"Real" Sizzle and cardboard Sizzle

Stephanie and Sizzle

It seems that some of the Colorado cats have followed us to Kansas.

The manager and the catcher got thrown out of the game and are now in a timeout back there.

We want to live in the freezer filled with ice cream.

We began the trip with a cap game and continue with it today.

The First Base coach is Kansas City Royals baseball legend Frank White.

The visiting Canaries soared past the T-Bones.

We were there!

Kids ran the bases after the game, we assume in protest of the loss.

You're just going to have to believe us that we entered Missouri and that we really are not in Kansas anymore!
